Sylhet, Northeastern Bangladesh, located on the Surma river valley is enriched with the country’s largest natural gas fields, sole crude oil field, rubber, palm oil, cane, agarwood and citrus farms. Its hilly slopes are covered with terrace of tea gardens and lush green tropical forests. Srimangal is known as the tea capital of Bangladesh and you will be amazed with the green carpet of tea gardens.
This itinerary is designed to show you the pilgrimage site of the tomb of 14th-century saint Hazrat Shah Jalal, ethnic communities’ lifestyles inclusive of farming and weaving, border activities between Bangladesh and India, stone-collection from river bed, tea gardens activities like tea-plucking etc., wildlife in the rain forest such as hoolock gibbons, deer, pythons, hornbills etc.
